Driftaway emerged from sustained engagement with the landscapes and communities of
Meghalaya — where identity, governance, ecology, and collective responsibility are lived
realities rather than abstract ideas.
In these hills, systems endure quietly. Across generations, communities here have evolved
ways of organizing themselves that sustain continuity without spectacle. These are not
theoretical constructs—they are living systems: adaptive, relational, and deeply contextual.
Authority is relational. Stewardship is inherited. Belonging precedes structure.
True leadership is not defined by titles or rules. Influence grows through relationships, responsibility builds on what came before, and people must feel included before structures can succeed.
